We have released today DidiSoft OpenPGP Library for .NET 1.9.4.102.
The new version ships with a .NET 8 pre-built assemblies with Ahead of Time (AOT) compilation support (something which wasn’t possible with earlier versions).
Also the DidiSoft.Pgp.Mail namespace, when working with PGP/MIME emails was previously relying on third party Email libraries for sending the produced encrypted mails. This was very cumbersome as it required serializing the original email to byte array, providing it to PGPMailLib and afterwards recreating again a native to the third party Email object to be sent.
With version 1.9.4.102 there are methods that accept and produce System.Net.MailMessage directly and we can use the .NET SmtpClient class:
- PGPMailLib.EncryptMail – accepts MailMessage and produces MailMessage
- PGPMailLib.SignMail – accepts MailMessage and produces MailMessage
- PGPMailLib.SignAndEncryptMail – accepts MailMessage and produces MailMessage
Stay tuned for our next releases this year where support for OpenPGP keys version 6 will be available.
